The Dyson Airblade dB hand dryer is 50% quieter when compared with the original Dyson Airblade hand dryer, but still takes just 12 seconds to dry hands. The hand dryer air apertures are scallop-shaped – this increases the distance that the two sheets of air travel before colliding, which reduces air rush noise. An offset front aperture alters the angle of the air, further reducing the sound made when the sheets of air collide. Dyson-designed Helmholtz silencers absorb the unpleasant tonal frequencies generated by the motor, improving the level and quality of the sound produced. Sheets of air traveling up to 420 mph scrape water from the front and back of hands simultaneously. A HEPA filter removed 99.97% of bacteria at 0.3 microns from the air used to dry hands. Small carbon footprint offers significantly lower carbon emissions than warm air hand dryers and hand towels. Approved by NSF International and HACCP International.
